I'm proud to announce I successfully finished my first-ever Whole30 last Tuesday! Hurray! I celebrated Wednesday morning with a bowl of plain, low-fat yogurt with granola, raspberries and blackberries. Followed by not following the whole "reintroduction" thing you're supposed to do and having 1/2 of a delicious chicken Reuben sandwich for lunch. Whatever, Whole30! I gave you 30 days, I want my life back.

Hard to believe, but I have only four more days of Whole30 to go! The past week has flown by pretty easily; I think I got into a groove (and/or just accepted my new, boring existence) and got through it without thinking (suffering) too much. The lows ... walking by open bags of tortilla chips and guacamole and hummus at work on Wednesday night, going to two friends' birthdays and not being able to partake in a drink (or cheese platter), eating hoisin sauce on lettuce wraps on Wednesday night without realizing they have like 5 uncompliant ingredients in them. I should have known something served for the sole purpose of being delicious was too good to be true. The highs ... uhhhhhhhhmmmmmm ... I'm somehow managing to get through this? I've stopped going to the bathroom every 30 minutes? My friends still want to hang out with me even though I'm not drinking? (Although I guess they're still drinking ... hmm.) Read More
